CHAPEL HILL, NC. - November 5, 2001 - Applied Information Systems (AIS) is pleased to announce a new OEM relationship with Vector Partners, LP where the XESS spreadsheet technology from AIS will be integrated into real-time financial trading applications developed by Vector Partners.
"Vector needed a highly sophisticated, flexible real-time spreadsheet/ toolkit to use as a foundation for the development of a proprietary electronic trading platform," says Christopher Dean, CEO of Vector Partners, LP. "XESS offered us the software solution we were looking for. In addition, their support infrastructure and market data experience were important considerations for ultimately choosing XESS."
The XESS system includes an SDK programming toolkit which enables tight integration of the XESS spreadsheet infrastructure into host applications such as the financial trading system from Vector Partners, LP. This allows the host application to utilize and extend the underlying functionality of the XESS spreadsheet - allowing users of the host application to interact directly with the spreadsheet or limiting direct user interaction with the spreadsheet by the host's user interface.
"The Xess/Trade Add-in for the XESS spreadsheet supports the high-volume real-time market data needed to support the Vector applications," said Arthur Coston, president of AIS (www.ais.com).
The XESS spreadsheet is available worldwide from AIS and its partners for:
The Xess/Trade system supports market data feeds from multiple sources such as Reuters (NASDAQ:RTRSY) and S&P; Comstock (NYSE:MHP), and integrates it in real-time with the XESS spreadsheet to provide charting, analytics, alerts, advanced analyses, and web publishing.
